A letter to God
Rape, stealing, murder, assault, slander, and fraud.
All these words mean nothing at all.
An amalgam of tiny, silly lines that form a letter;
Then a word that could be an insult,
A sentence that could hurt one's feelings or threaten one's life.
How is it that these innocent lines, letters—these words—are said with such judgment?
How is it that "R" remains innocent until placed before A, P, E?
How come murder is a crime, but "redrum" isn't? What about "Dermur"? Or "Remdur"?
Totally gibberish, but you get the point, don’t you?
How come “read” is read as “reed,” but “read” is read as “red”?
How come "baked" is pronounced as "baked," but "naked” ...
Never mind the mind.
Just humans and their unfathomable desire to play God,
Even with words.
Letters.
Just lines.
Innocent lines.
